Kiera Knightly in a butterfly motif gown at the 2015 Golden Globes

Actress Kiera Knightly fluttered into the 2015 Golden Globe awards ceremony wearing a butterfly motif gown. Perhaps it was a shout out to the 2007 film, Silk in which Knightly played the role of wife of a French Silkworm smuggler.

The fashionistas were not impressed by the entomological theme.

From Jill Hurley:

Kiera Knightly is wearing a giant butterfly on her wrist…what has happened to fashion

From Carolyn Baumgarten:

Kiera Knightly’s dress inspiration: Laura Ingalls Wilder. Prairie chic!

From Heather McDonald:

Kiera Knightly Dress looks like something an old lady who collects butterflies would wear.

I guess butterflies are not “in” this year. No matter. Entomologists everywhere are applauding the courage to model the finest in insect wear. Love those butterflies!

Love the butterflies! Not so much the ruffles. But since Kiera Knightly would look good in a burlap sack, I think the critics are just jealous. 🙂
