Insect Issues/ Sunday Funnies

Pollinators are important to our ecosystem and agroecosystems. Inadequate pollination can lower crop yield. In our ecosystems, some plant and insect species have evolved to become dependent on each other. Neither can survive without the other. Our managed honey bees are under increased stress with significant colony loss during the winter months. Several popular documentaries have captured the plight of the bees, building public interest and sympathy for bees. The documentaries are a counterbalance to a fear of bees and wasps by many who have experienced stings.
