Stink Bug Season

Brown Marmorated Stink Bug

Fall in Indiana is when Brown Marmorated Stink Bugs move indoors to overwinter. Our friends at Virginia Tech are touting a simple solution to trap indoor bugs. Fill a pan with a layer of water deep enough for the bugs to drown. Mix in dish detergent to lower the surface tension. Shine a desk lamp onto the water surface. Turn the desk lamp on and the other lights off when you go to bed. The bugs are attracted to the light, land on the water, sink and drown. The pan can be emptied outdoors.
